QIANTANG DRAGON, PHOTOS FROM THE JAW
In September 1988, a team from England set out to conquer the most fearful tidal bore with surfboards. Former distance record holder, Stuart Matthews, attempted to ride the wave, while veteran Severn boatman, Fred Larkham, drove the main camera boat. Stuart rode the Dragon standing for eleven seconds, and disaster nearly struck when the boat was capsized by the wave, and valuable footage lost!

Here is a collection of still frames from the documentary showing the power of this formidable tidal bore.
